Eat For Elephants
Eat For Elephants is a digital cookbook containing 37 plant-based recipes. We wanted to offer something in exchange for donating to the care and conservation of Asian elephants and every penny of the profit from this project goes to Save Elephant Foundation (SEF), a registered Thai non-profit organisation. Donate just £5.00 or the equivalent in your currency and receive your copy instantly. The amount is intentionally low because people are often embarrassed to donate smaller amounts - but we believe there’s huge power in small - read the full story below.
How the cookbook came about
During the first 100-Mile Walk Project to raise money for Save Elephant Foundation’s COVID-related efforts, we noticed that exactly two people donated amounts of less than £10.00 - and both apologised profusely “For only being able to afford to donate a small amount”.
At Act Big Live Small we believe that ‘small amounts’ of anything - money, time, action - can soon add up to make a big difference.
So, we decided our next fundraising campaign would be centred around two things:
Offering something in exchange for contributions, rather than asking for pure donations.
Offering something valuable at a lower cost. We wanted it to be accessible to anyone who only had a ‘small amount’ to give.
And so, the idea of a digital cookbook was born
The Eat for Elephants cookbook has only been successful thanks to the power of community. Thanks to people with a far wider reach than ours who helped us to promote it, and thanks to the people who were willing to trust us and grab a copy!
We appreciate you all so much.
